Guest Blogger Review: Kong: Skull Island

Posted 2 March 2017 about Kong: Skull Island.

Amazing film, full of action for all the family...

I attended the film premiere in London on Tuesday for 'Kong Skull Island'. I was there collecting autographs but got free tickets to go in and got to see the movie and here's my review.

If you like your movies loud, action packed and full of top line CGI effects this is the film for you. With a star packed cast including Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larsson and our own British actor Tom Hiddleston, the director, Jordan Vogts - Roberts, delivers 2 hours of escapism and fun.

The plot involves a group of scientists and explorers backed up by the military heading for an uncharted island in search of  the mythic Kong and a domain of Monsters. Anyone looking for an adventure film for the family to enjoy will come away having seen a slice of good old fashioned Hollywood fun, yes you can't take it seriously but its cast and crew deliver what they promised in the trailer.

kongSamuel L. Jackson showing that he is one of the biggest movie stars around and so much fun to watch, Brie Larsson bringing some glamour and Tom Hiddleston looking more and more a candidate for the next James Bond. Add to a fine cast that clearly loved filming around the globe in new places like Vietnam a series of amazing set pieces like exploding helicopters, shoot up's, plus a cracking film score and state of the art CGI effects with monsters galore you wonder how on earth they do it. Normally films like this are too studio bound but as most of it was filmed actually out on location it feels like a fresh take on an old movie monster idea. Watch the money role in for Warner brothers, you'll certainly have your money's worth, give it a try.
